Participating in a cooperative nursery school gives parents the unique opportunity of observing the growth and development of their own children as well as other children of the same age in a school setting. At the same time, the parent takes an active part in providing a caring, happy learning atmosphere for his/her child and other children.
The main purpose of the Wallingford Cooperative Nursery School is to provide cooperative and readiness skills - social, physical, emotional and academic - in a caring school environment.
A cooperative nursery school is operated by the parents. Members, through the Executive Committee (EC), set guidelines and assume the administrative and financial responsibilities of the school. The educational program is under the direction of trained teachers and the Director, who are assisted in the daily schedule by the parents.
